Mick recently finished a cloak commission for Nairm Marr Djambana - an Aboriginal community organisation based on the lands of the Bunurong / Boonwurrung Peoples in what is now called Frankston.

Here is some more information about the Nairm Marr Djambana Gugra Design.  Gugra means possum skin cloak in Taungwurrung language.

The cloak has seventeen panels – each panel represents stages in a person’s life, from being born and their life experiences and stories.

5. Gulinj / Bagruk - Becoming a Man/Woman
6. Bunjil the Wedge-Tailed Eagle – our creator, and one of the two totems of the Kulin People
7. Waang the Crow / Raven – Protector and one of the two totems of the Kulin People
8. Right of Passage – Girl to Woman Marram Da-Gruk or Boy to Man Gimbobuk

The coloured sections represent the person's particular elements of their story that are the possibilities and what the story of their life becomes.
